Exitium: nearing completion

The rough draft of Exitium, the third book in my Effugium trilogy, is nearing completion, and I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out.

This one’s got Kryuss from one million years in the future skipping around time and space in a giant golden faberge egg powered by compressed stars from uninhabited galaxies and operated using an antikythera. It’s called the Zeitgeist.

It’s got a planet whose inhabitants pretty much worship war, and a planet full of conquered and enslaved pacifists.

It’s got a spacefaring creature called a bolligo that hitches rides on asteroids as a dry, mossy fungus and then reconstitutes itself by drawing all of the moisture from its environment once it lands somewhere. It looks like a slimy black mushroom with tentacles and will skeletonize you in seconds. After that, it’ll split open your bones and remove every molecule of moisture from your bone marrow for dessert.

There are duels to the death using vicious, chained flying creatures as weapons and there’s also a flying ’57 Chevy Bel-Air convertible.

It’s got the consciousness of a robot who used to be a human male placed into a female human body and impregnated by a cyborg.

It’s got all of these bizarre ideas and more. Trust me, though, it’s not as weird as it sounds. Well, actually, it is, but it’ll make sense. 😉
