I’ve just submitted a short story to the “L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future” contest.
For those who are unaware of what that is, it’s a long-running program established 35 year ago by L. Ron Hubbard to give unpublished writers a shot at exposure. Wish me luck!
Good luck to you.
Thanks!
And I look forward to your post letting us all know you won.
That’s how I’m choosing to look at it: However, the story I submitted isn’t sci-fi, but “dark fantasy” is one of the accepted genres and I feel like the one I sent falls under that umbrella. Still, I’ll fully understand if it’s not accepted as such and simply send another story next quarter. My first attempt at submitting anything to anyone, so simply having taken that step gives me a sense of accomplishment that I didn’t have yesterday.
Whaatt??!! Yesss!! If you don’t get in, my opinion of them will have fallen quite low. You are an incredible writer and deserve this.
It’s a step in the direction you want to go. That’s progress.
Just a shot in the dark. I’m banking on my “Third Wish” story qualifying as “dark fantasy.” I did some touching up of it and sent it off on a whim.
I’m excited for you. They would be fools to pass you up. I honestly believe that.
Lol, well thank you. I’d never call any of the writers who judge that contest fools but thank you for the vote of confidence! I’d just try again in a few months. 🤷🏼♂️
