If bees vanished from the face of the Earth, the Earth and every living creature on it would be screwed.
If humans disappeared, the Earth and every remaining living creature on it minus domesticated animals would thrive.
Isn’t that something? Food for thought, eh?
In my book Effugium: The Time Remaining, an artificial intelligence called T.R.E.E. (Terrestrially Regenerative Enhanced Extranet) stores and transmits data via vegetation.
After making the determination that humankind is responsible for the rapid decline of bee populations, T.R.E.E. takes some pretty drastic actions to resolve the issue.
It does so not out of concern, but out of self-preservation. After all, it needs vegetation to perpetuate itself, and without bees, well… you do the math.
Point is, if you care about bees, buy a copy of the book. In fact, I suggest you buy all of them.
For every copy sold, I will close my eyes and wish the bees good luck, and have positive thoughts about them. Every little bit helps.
